COFFEE EDUCATION NETWORK started out in 1999 as a barista training & cafe consulting business.
A decade later, it morphed into a publishing entity. THE PERFECT ESPRESSO books & training resources were designed for busy teachers when barista training was taking off in Australian schools & colleges. TRENDING CAFES Brisbane & Beyond is the first in a new series of books, each featuring 100 specialty cafes – with a free coffee to be enjoyed at each one.

The launch of our Perfect Espresso books and training resources was in 2009 at the Australian Barista Championships, staged at the Gold Coast. Out first international foray was the following year at the Caffe Culture trade show in London. We’ve exhibited at World of Coffee & attended SCA events in Europe & the USA most years since. This has led to all kinds of invitations and opportunities from around the world. We’ve secured distributors in most parts of the world, but are always on the lookout for others.
Through our travels and connections with the ‘best in the industry’, we’ve kept abreast of trends & developments in coffee. The BARISTA BIBLE and its related products have been updated over the years.
When starting to write about coffee over 25 years ago, there were hardly any books on the subject. Or anything much on the internet, for that matter. You had to visit the places & connect with the people. So that’s what we did!
My husband Paul left his job at the Public Service to join what was to become our journey of discovery & learning. Documenting stories about coffee has been our life’s work ever since.
